all over the sidewalks, in the grass, on the patio, through the vegetable garden, in my living room, in my bathroom... What in the world? Anybody have some fantastic ideas about ridding our home and yard of ants safely (for Fischer and the dogs)?

gross! there is nothing i dislike more...and we have had 2 houses that we had to fight them. i don't know if you can find it online or not, but there is a mixture of sugar water and boric acid that you can put a small drop of in the places that the ants are coming in your home (you have to watch them and see if you can find it.) they flock to it for the first day, but then they start going away in huge improvements every day. ants are cannibalistic so they eat it, go back and die, and the other ants eat them. it is a chain reaction. it is like a miracle mixture. seriously in a few days they are just all gone.
i'll look if i have the exact mixture amounts and if i can find it, i will send it to you...but i'm not sure i have it with me here.
Thanks Courtni! I looked that up, and it seems that since you have to leave the solution out for 24-48 hours, it may pose a risk for my dogs. However, it DOES sound like an option that works well IF you can stand letting hoards od ants dine in your house without you bothering them! That has got to be hard to do.
