I tried to do a little photo shoot of him while we were hiking, but he was much more interested in exploring than posing. Go figure. He loved looking at the uprooted tree that had fallen over and inspecting the network of roots that had once been planted firmly into the ground. He also loved climbing onto and over every log, rock and stump in sight. He kept asking me when we were going to climb a mountain. "Umm... we are honey... this is it!!"
I think he wanted to scale an immense rock face or something. Next time we'll have to hike up to some sort of peak so that he can feel that he "climbed a mountain".

Lisa- Zev asks the same thing whenever we hike- are we going to the mountains? We were on TOP of a peak and he asked! I think it's hard to understand the concept because when they learned the word, they saw it in a picture from a distance always.
Let's take the kids together some time-

Could you list some of your favorite hikes ? I am always looking for a new spot to check out.
Ahhh.boys and their sticks and stones. My boys will always find the perfect stick to hike with and the perfect rock to save. What is it with sticks and stones, guess I don't get it...I am a girl after all ;)
Hi Lisa - just checking out your blog. Sounds like our sons have a lot in common. We have a collection of rocks too... endlessly fascinating they are, and great for throwing in streams. Really looking forward to doing the One Good Book Swap with you.
