Seven Blind Mice by Ed Young is based on the ancient fable of the blind men and the elephant. It has a great morale: "Knowing in part may make a fine tale, but wisdom comes from seeing the whole." Little ones will learn about the days of the week and colors. There are also some very good desctiptive words that would be fun to discuss or to find other things in the house that could be described that way (sharp, sturdy, supple, wide, breezy and stringy).
